The camp is a footwalk away from civilisation.
But november temperatures at the wake-up let some already abandon the course after the first night.
In the morning a müsli with banana, nuts and deer grease is Johan’s habit.
About twenty persons are following the course and some vegetarians among.
It is a process of intensive work to tan a skin. Flesh and hair have to be scrubbed off by hand.
Only on the second day the softening work begins for those who work fast.
Bones or branches are serving as working tools and the fat of a deer brain helps to tender the skins.
The smell of the carcass on the hands is nothing for sensitive minds.
But hungry and tired nobody cares about such things anymore.
The day is finishing with a meaty meal. Lamb chops and a vegetable hot pot, some cooked eggs and nuts are providing calories.
When it gets dark all are sitting around the fireplace and enjoying the gatherness and heat.

Johan and Niklas are organizing courses about wilderness, survival and related activities. www.naturliv.org
